Strongman Corporation Records

Records are scored at the local or regional level show.

Rules

Log

Women can use a 10 or 12 inch log. Men will use a 12 inch log                

Log must start on the ground or pads                

Athlete will clean the log and then press in any manner (split jerk, push press, strict press) until lock out                

Lock out includes both elbows fully extended and head through until a down command is given. During the lock out control must be observed.               

Athlete may attempt to press any number of times depending on rules of competition but cannot rest or let the log touch their head.  Once a down command is given there must be control returning the log to the ground. Dropping from overhead will count as a "no lift"                

Axle

Axle must start on the ground or pads

Athlete can clean the axle with continental clean or olympic clean and then press in any manner (split jerk, push press, strict press) until lock out

Lock out includes both elbows fully extended and head through until a down command is given. During the lock out control must be observed

Athlete may attempt to press any number of times depending on rules of competetion.

Once a down command is given there must be control returning the axle to the ground. Dropping from overhead will count as a "no lift"

Circus Dumbbell (CDB)

Any size circus dumbbell can be used

CDB will start from the ground or pad and may be cleaned using two hands

After the clean the second hand must not contact the CDB until after the down command. Athlete can press in any manner (split jerk, push press, strict press) until lock out

Lock out includes arm fully extended, second hand not in contact, body in an upright position and observed control until a down command is given.

Athlete may attempt to press any numebr of times depending on rules of competetion.

Once a down command is given there must be control returning to the ground. Dropping from overhead not onto a crash pad will count as a "no lift"

Deadlift and 18in deadlift

Any type of bar can be used minus trap bar

Athlete can start strapped in or behind the bar

On the command to lift athlete will lift the bar until lock out. Hitching, ramping are allowed

Lock out includes knees locked out, hips locked out, shoulders back and control showed.

On the command "down" athlete will return the bar to the ground. Letting go of the bar from the top will be considered a "no lift"

Suits/briefs are allowed depending on competition but will be included in state records.

Fingers must maintain contact with the bar. Figure 8 straps are allowed if competition allows but thumb must maintain contact.

Sandbag to Shoulder

Sandbag will start on the ground either stood upright or on its side

To receive a down command an athlete must shoudler the sandbag, remove their free hand, and show control until down command is given

Sandbag needs to be on the shoulder and not resting on chest

There does not need to be control when lowering the sandbag after a down command and is based on competition rules (i.e. if rule states no dropping behind than no dropping behind)

Throw over bar

Athlete can throw in any manner they want based on competition rules

If the sandbag rests on the uprights it will be counted as a good throw

Women throw to at minimum 12ft, Men 15ft (Formula for other heights will be weightxheight/12 or 15)

This is max weight over bar not height

If athletes throw to a greater height with a heavier bag that will count as record

Max Stone Load

Women load to 48in, Men 52in

This can be over bar or to platform

Athlete can start with hands on the stone or behind depending on competition rules

Athletes will not grab the crossbar or platform at anytime during the lift

If an athlete loads a heavier stone over a higher height that will count as record
